This Privacy Policy explains how Carbon Studios, a software and web development studio based in Utah, USA ("Carbon Studios," "we," "us," or "our"), collects, uses, and protects information you provide through the website at carbonstudios.dev (the "Site"). By using the Site or submitting information through our forms, you agree to this Policy.

1. Information we collect

We collect the information you voluntarily submit through our website review and contact forms. This may include:

  • your name;
  • your business name;
  • your website URL;
  • your email address;
  • your phone number; and
  • any free-text notes, messages, or links you choose to include.

We do not require you to submit any information beyond what is needed to respond to your inquiry. Please do not submit sensitive personal information through the forms.

2. Why we collect it

We use the information you provide to respond to your inquiry, to prepare and deliver a requested website review, to communicate with you about a potential or active engagement, and to provide our services. We do not use it for unrelated purposes.

3. Third-party services

We rely on a small number of trusted third-party providers to operate the Site and process form submissions. These providers process data on our behalf and only as needed to perform their function:

  • Cloudflare Turnstile — spam and abuse protection on our forms.
  • Resend — delivery of email notifications and replies related to your submission.
  • Stripe (planned) — payment processing for paid engagements, once enabled.
  • A PostgreSQL database (planned) — secure storage of lead and inquiry records, once enabled.

Each provider maintains its own privacy practices. We encourage you to review their policies for details on how they handle data.

4. We do not sell your data

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We do not share it with third parties for their own marketing purposes. We share information only with the service providers described above, or where required by law.

5. Cookies and analytics

If and when analytics are enabled, the Site uses privacy-friendly, cookieless analytics (Plausible), which measures aggregate, anonymous usage without cookies and without tracking you across other websites. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.

6. Data retention

We keep the information you submit only as long as necessary to respond to your inquiry, provide our services, and meet legal, accounting, or record-keeping obligations. When it is no longer needed, we delete or anonymize it. You may request earlier deletion as described below.

7. Your rights

You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of the personal information we hold about you by emailing jacob@carbonstudios.dev. We will respond within a reasonable time and in accordance with applicable law. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under laws such as the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA).

8. Children's privacy

The Site is intended for businesses and adults. It is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under the age of 13. If you believe a child has provided us information, please contact us and we will delete it.

9. Security

We take reasonable measures to protect the information you provide. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
