Work / Independent project

In development

LearnOS

A learning platform being built around skills, evidence, and progress, helping learners understand what they've mastered and what to work on next.

My role: Product planning and full-stack development.

Project notes · September 2026

This is an independent work in progress, not a completed client engagement or a product available to purchase. Planned capabilities are described separately below.

Purpose

Course completion alone doesn't explain what someone can do or which skills still need practice.

Approach

Organize learning around competencies and evidence of understanding, with a learner-facing interface and a backend for learning records.

Current stage

Early application foundations and learning-workflow prototypes; not a production-ready learning service.

What LearnOS is

LearnOS is an in-development learning platform centered on competency: what a learner understands and can demonstrate, rather than only which lessons they have completed.

The aim is to connect learning activities, evidence, and progress so students can see their next step and educators can understand where support is needed.

Current foundation

The project has early application foundations and prototypes for learning workflows. Its technical direction combines a Go backend, a React and TypeScript interface, and PostgreSQL for persistent records.

It remains an independent development project, not a finished school platform or a service currently available to purchase.

Planned next steps

  • Refine the relationships between competencies, learning activities, and evidence.
  • Develop clearer learner and educator views of progress.
  • Improve how work is saved and recovered when connectivity is interrupted.
  • Validate the workflows before making any reliability or scale claims.

These are development goals, not promises of features already delivered. There is no announced public launch date.
